Etymology

Derived from a reduced form of こんにち【今日】 konnichi "this day, this morning, today", the term やら yara which may be related to the standard Japanese particle of uncertainty やら yara or to the auxiliary verb やる yaru, and the honorific verb ごあす goasu (variant of ごわす gowasu).

Notes

Alternative forms include: こんちゃらごわす konchara gowasu, and こんちゃらごわした konchara gowashita.
